Hispanic Serving Institutions: Pathways to the Professoriate

This research project focuses on moving more Latino students from their undergraduate education at Hispanic Serving Institutions into Ph.D. programs at major research universities across the nation. The qualitative research project is longitudinal, following 90 students over the course of their undergraduate and graduate work.

Minority Serving Institutions Aspiring Leaders

This research project is focused on preparing the next generation of presidents of Minority Serving Institutions. The work is qualitative and longitudinal in nature.

ELEVATE Early Career Faculty Program

ELEVATE focuses on preparing early career faculty at Minority Serving Institutions for tenure. The research program is qualitative and includes pre-and post-interviews with participants.

Frederick Douglass Global Fellows

This project is focused on diversifying study abroad and operated in conjunction with CIEE. The research includes pre- and post-interviews with study abroad participants, who are students at Minority Serving Institutions.

Law School Faculty Diversity Project

This project focuses on faculty and student diversity within Top 14 and American Association of Universities (AAU) Law Schools. The study is quantitative in nature.

African Americans in STEM at Black Colleges

This project is complete, but data analysis continues. It focuses on student success models in STEM at Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Qualitative in approach, the project included over 700 interviews with STEM students and faculty at HBCUs.

Teachers of Color: The Role of Minority Serving Institutions

This research project is complete, but data analysis continues. Qualitative in nature, this research explores the role of Minority Serving Institutions in producing teachers of color.

Minority Serving Institutions: Models of Success

This project is complete. It was focused on student success models at Minority Serving Institutions. Qualitative in nature, the project included over 1000 interviews at 12 different institutions.
